If you want Republicans to win the next few elections then there’s the ticket lolJoe wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 4:02 pmSadly I don’t think you’re wrong.ICEMAN KING PATSON wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 3:09 pmI don't expect the government shut down to end unless Puns's favorite uncle is impeached, so I'm thinking at least 6 more months.

I think they need to put all of them in a giant pit with chains on their feet and slowly fill the pit with water then let them fight for the key. Winners are the ones who get out and gets to run the country.Roxxxas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 11:05 pmIf you want Republicans to win the next few elections then there’s the ticket lolJoe wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 4:02 pmSadly I don’t think you’re wrong.ICEMAN KING PATSON wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 3:09 pm

Would make more sense than our current electoral system.

Yeah as long as it's just mainly republicans and democrats, shit isn't going to get done because "that's the best idea i've ever heard and will save the planet but you're not my party so i vote no!"

We have to get rid of this stigma that if you vote third party you're wasting your vote.

So with the government temporarily reopened, can NJPW get the visa a sorted in time and change the cards or is it too late?

Re: New Japan Pro Wrestling Thread
My understanding is that's it's a process that takes more than a few weeks so if this is just a temporary reopening (Puns's favorite uncle promised to make the government close again in 2 weeks if he doesn't get the money for his fucking wall) then it's not enough time.Iamspiderman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 4:34 pmSo with the government temporarily reopened, can NJPW get the visa a sorted in time and change the cards or is it too late?

Yeah I don’t think it could be done quickly enough. Part of me wonders how long ago they applied for the visas to begin with.ICEMAN KING PATSON wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 4:46 pmMy understanding is that's it's a process that takes more than a few weeks so if this is just a temporary reopening (Puns's favorite uncle promised to make the government close again in 2 weeks if he doesn't get the money for his fucking wall) then it's not enough time.Iamspiderman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 4:34 pmSo with the government temporarily reopened, can NJPW get the visa a sorted in time and change the cards or is it too late?

I love the "good guy" Tama Tonga thing. It was just him having fun at first but it's taken on a dimension with him not wanting to cheat now and the interactions it causes with the other members.
Re: New Japan Pro Wrestling Thread
I’m really not a fan of it. I mean, he’s just not where I think someone should be to be put in that position.
Re: New Japan Pro Wrestling Thread
I just don’t see it.
Re: New Japan Pro Wrestling Thread
Look at his track record. He has high profile matches & wins in said matches.
Re: New Japan Pro Wrestling Thread
I don’t disagree that he’s been built for this from a booking perspective, but I just don’t see him being at that level in terms of quality.Monday Night Rollins wrote: ↑Tue Feb 12, 2019 7:30 pmLook at his track record. He has high profile matches & wins in said matches.

I disagree. Think he’s going to be big time. Bright future.Joe wrote: ↑Tue Feb 12, 2019 8:52 pmI don’t disagree that he’s been built for this from a booking perspective, but I just don’t see him being at that level in terms of quality.Monday Night Rollins wrote: ↑Tue Feb 12, 2019 7:30 pmLook at his track record. That I don’t disagree with but he’s not there yet and in theory you should already be big time to be IWGP champion.Monday Night Rollins wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 7:56 pmI disagree. Re: New Japan Pro Wrestling Thread
As I told Joe when we were talking about this the other day, I think the problem is that it was supposed to be White/Omega. That's what the build has been to for over a year since White turned down and attacked him at New Year Dash. While Tanahashi was a fine replacement to keep the match quality up there, and a nice callback to White's return to njpw, it didn't have the story behind it.
As far as White being ready, I think he's fine in the ring but I agree it's too soon to be the main man. I'll gladly eat those words if he has a tremendous run with outstanding matches but unless it's Okada or Tanahashi, I don't see it and he's just owned those two since the road to wrestlekingdom shows and then beating both so rematches right away aren't interesting. Ibushi winning the NJCup for the first title defense at G1 Supercard seems to be how they're going so it should be a good match but I'm taking a wait and see approach.
