NHL 2021-2022 Season
time for another painful torturous season of Maple Leafs hockey. I am hoping to go to their outdoor game against Buffalo at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton. which is actually a short walk from my house.

after a terrible start to the year the Maple Leafs are doing well. But in the end its how the team does in the playoffs that matters.

Wow, I'm just incredibly late on this one. I support it quite frankly. I like a lot of the youth on the Devils but the defense couldn't be more miserable and that hurts me to say as I became a fan of the Devils in the early 90s when it was all about defense and games just became on lock also thanks in part to Martin Brodeur.rohspashley wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:25 pmGardenState. thoughts on Jack Hughes getting 8 years 64 million dollars.

I'm not going to have sour grapes about the rest of the season and I will continue to watch but I'm ready for the playoffs to start already.

Like a Canadian hockey journalist said. you cannot pick against Tampa until they lose. They could be the first team in almost 40 years to win 3 straight cups. and while i don't like Stamkos cause i feel he was gutless to re-sign in Tampa and not sign with his hometown Maple Leafs, he has resurrected his career and looks to hoist his 3 straight cup as captain. I think Colorado is a better overall team but with Kadri out and Colorado being their first final as a team i would take Tampa. Also no matter what the regular season stats say... Andrei Vasilevskiy is the best goalie in the world. And Tampa just find ways to win.

Gutless to re-sign and stay with the team that drafted him? Usually the perception from most situations is that it's gutless to leave!rohspashley wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 10:35 pmLike a Canadian hockey journalist said. you cannot pick against Tampa until they lose. I will freely admit i am a Leafs fan living near Toronto Ontario Canada. And annoyed Stamkos stayed in Tampa than sign in Toronto. I can understand his reasoning. Florida has nicer weather. Honestly lot less pressure playing In Tampa than playing in his hometown in Canada where hockey matters a lot more in Canada than southern USA. Also Florida has no state income tax so keep more of his money.

Game 1 is going to start in a couple hours here and if Vasilevskiy gets any bit comfortable early on I can imagine it getting real difficult for the Avs real fast.

Hey GardenState, thoughts on what the Devils have done in the draft and free agency... also how has the Jersey/American sports media reacted to Gaudreau and Tkachuk 2 American hockey players wanting out of Canada.

From what I've gathered, Gaudreau and Tkhachuk leaving Calgary wasn't a surprise to most hockey fans I've spoken to about it but it has nothing to do with them being American and wanting out of Canada.
As for the Devils, I like what they have done but I still believe the coaching staff needs to change, mainly Lindy Ruff as the head coach.
