Massage therapy would probably help you too, I occasionally go and the main guy has told me it’s great to pair with a chiropractor since your muscles obviously will be much looser and the decompression will be more effective.
I think I’ll try that, thanks man.

Thanks man in Greek is ευχάριστο, ο άντρας.

Damn, Puns. Just seeing this. Glad you're doing better but damn, spinal shit ain't no joke, I know.

I think Roxx is on to something with mixing the massage and the chiropractor. if you can get the blessing of a doc I'd definitely try DDPY, did wonders in getting me back to the point I could go to the gym again.

Jacen had one of the worst days yesterday. Complete meltdowns, screaming, kicking, refusing to do anything that didn't involve stimulation. They were able to calm him at school but I had to pick him up early to take him to therapy and he melted down so bad it took myself and the therapist an hour just to get him downstairs and to the car. He calmed down on the ride home and played but melted down when putting him to bed. He got so upset he vomited, but fell asleep fast. I hope he wakes up feeling better today.

Poor lil guy. Do you know what initially caused the meltdowns?

Thank you. And it’s good to hear you’re doing better. I’m gonna continue to see the chiropractor and I will definitely look into massage therapy too.

Have I mentioned how much I hate coming home to the lions share of house work every day while others nap and watch TV or stare endlessly at Tik-Tok?

Mine was getting off work and receiving a text that said "I don't want to hear a word about the state of his room." I came home to Jacen having knocked every book off of his bookcase, probably 25 percent of his toys dragged out and poured all over the floor, his socks and underwear drawer dumped into the floor, his curtain rod bent and thrown on the ground with his curtains yanked down, and his mattress thrown off his bedframe so he could put 2 bicycles on it. All of this happened while I was at work and it still fell on me to clean up along with making sure he's bathed, sitting with him until he falls asleep, doing dishes, taking out the trash, cleaning up the litter box, sweeping up, amongst other daily chores that just won't get done unless I do them. It's usually 10:30-11 pm some nights before I get a moment to myself on days I work. I refuse to live in filth though, I've lived with someone who let their house get disgusting and I won't live like that anymore. It's already an uphill battle against clutter and half drunk water bottles and dishes laying around the house as it is. I had to go to her parents house to help set up a multiple room wifi setup the other day and it gave me flashbacks to the living situation I was in years ago. Small spaces just carved out enough to get from one spot to another, cat litter boxes in multiple rooms that hadn't been maintained in what smelt like a week or more. It really is something like you would have seen on an early season of hoarders. I grow scared of our house getting that way, Sherry loves going to Target and buying tons of knick knacks and leaving it laying in bags for weeks because she realizes she has nowhere to put it when she gets home. She has a desk in the spare bedroom that is unusable because of the level of clutter on it (which really stinks for me because I could really use that space for youtube), our dining room table has one small section dug out to get Jacen fed or for one person to eat at (we usually eat on the couch because of this), and our bedroom has gotten so cluttered that I don't bother sleeping in there anymore, she doesn't fold or put away clothes at all so she just puts all her dirty clothes on top of the tv in there while leaving all her clean clothes in the hamper, she leaves her shoes scattered all over the floor (and gets mad at me when I put them out of the way at the foot of the bed), tons of half drunk water bottles (there were nearly 30 when I finally cleaned under the bed on vacation) and dirty dishes and laundry that she refuses to put away. It's just overwhelming some days to come home to this.

If Twitter ends up dying soon, I think a social media detox is a good idea for me. I've thrown way too much of my spare time at these sites and need to reclaim stuff I enjoy doing again when I can.

Damn, a shooting happened between some UVA football players. UVA is in Charlottesville, which is about half an hour from here. I’ve been to UVA countless times for football and basketball games. They’ve got a heck of a hospital there too. It especially sucks when kids kill kids.

What do we need to do as a country to stop this kind of thing from continuing?

Assault rifle ban for starters. Also a deep investment in mental health/healthcare in general. Education reform with a hard focus on facts and critical thinking and paying educators a hell of a lot more than they are now. Tackling growing income inequality. It's hard to just pinpoint one thing because things like this happening so often is indicative of a failing nation that is doing so much wrong that a wholesale reform of almost everything is the only way to dig us out of this.

Which means it's just going to get worse because none of this is going to change. Would cost the powers that be too much and they don't care anyway.

I am my boss’ second longest tenured employee. As such, I get to train new people. Having been put on “light duty” by the spinal doctor, I am required to have someone with me to deliver packages. I’m strictly driving. So the guy they had me training today, let’s call him Mullet, really sucks. Not at the job, because any chimpanzee can do my job, but as a person.

I’ve had to have him with me for training three times I believe. The first day: We pull into a customer’s driveway. They have what I believe is a Nissan Juke. He says “it’s always the jukes.” I say “what does that mean?” He answers “it’s always the Jews.” I say “oh like me?” I laugh it off because he’s probably just young and stupid. Maybe he’s trying to be funny and I’m almost twice his age. Then we get to a house later in the day and he mentions how there are like 30 pairs of boots on the porch. I tell him that it’s a house full of Latino migrant workers who work on the farms and orchards I deliver to and around all day. I told him how I’ve learned Spanish so I could communicate with them in their language. He told me “or they could learn English because we aren’t in Mexico.” I got heated here, but kept it professional. I’ve got relationships with these people. They aren’t even Mexicans. One dude is from Honduras, a couple from El Salvador. One dude is from Nicaragua and another is from Colombia. Everyone who speaks Spanish isn’t fucking Mexican. I told him I respect them enough to go out of my way to learn their language so that I can better interact with them as human beings and I have the ability to learn and grow and I don’t mind making myself a more valuable person by learning someone else’s language. It’s called progression. I don’t talk to him for a long time after this and I turn my basketball podcast No Dunks on and turn it up. Mullet told me he doesn’t like basketball. Good. Mullet also gets bit by a dog. At first I was upset with the dog, but then thinking back I believe the dog was a fantastic judge of character.

Second day: when we depart the terminal I put on Kanye West’s Late Registration and Graduation albums back to back and rap along to every song. He pouts the entire time and I’m reveling in making him uncomfortable. Then we go back to the house with the migrant workers. When we pull up he recognizes it and says “this is the house with all the fucking Mexicans.” Julio is sitting on the porch, putting on his boots. I tell him “tengo un paquete para Julio” is how you tell Julio you have a package for him. He said “I’ll never say that.” We finish up our day and get a call from my boss. A new person just quit and bro if it back an entire van full of things. It’s in the area directly to the south of my delivery area and I know it by heart. We go to help once Cassie and Lauren drive out to meet me. They are two married ladies that I work with, one of whom I’ve known since high school. She was close with my youngest sister. So we meet them To pick up a buncha packages and Mullet complains that I wouldn’t turn off “the coon tunes.” Cassie has two mixed race babies from a prior marriage. She got that crazy ass look in her eyes and I had to quickly pull her aside and keep her from “clawing his fucking eyes out” as she put it. So I talk to Cassie and she says she’s gonna go to management about him and I assure her if anyone asks me anything I’ll tell her exactly what went down.

So my boss comes over the following morning and says Mullet was off for the next couple days and rolls his eyes. That was last Wednesday. We were off Thursday for Thanksgiving. I worked Friday and no Mullet. Mullet was off Saturday too. Then Sunday and Monday as well. So I took it as he was fired for sucking at life and then this morning Mullet was back and they’ve got him assigned to me again. So we are out delivering and he is complaining about something a black person said and he says “there’s a difference between a black person…” I know what the fuck comes next because I’ve heard plenty of people say exactly what this idiot is saying having grown up in a more rural area of Virginia “…and a N-word, this one he ends with an a.” I’m hot. I say “have you ever had a negative interaction with a black person before?” He says “yeah, a couple.” I ask him if the issues that they had were because of the color of his skin and he said no, they were because he’s gay and everybody knows blacks hate gays. I’m like….everything about this kid pisses me off. Stupid generalizations. Flat out ignorance. Racism. I don’t like him on a fundamental level. I wanna yell at him but there are cameras in the van and I’m not getting in trouble over this racist kid with a freaking mullet.

So I type up a long text message to my manager and tell him everything I just told you. And I can’t send it because I have no service. I decide maybe that’s a sign to have mercy, that I’ll give him one more final, last chance to not suck as a human being. Because he’s not always gonna be in my van with me and what he believes is his business, not mine. If he sucks that’s his problem. If I get all bent outta shape about it he wins. But also maybe he’s gonna say the wrong shit in front of the wrong guy and the wrong guy might just annihilate his stupid mullet having ass. But no. This idiot says the N-word again. With a hard R. I look and have service on my phone and send the text to my manager.

I spoke with my manager on the phone after work about it and told him I feel bad. He asked why. I told him I feel like a no good stinkin’ dirty fuckin’ rat. Like I went and tattled to my teacher on the kid who said a bad word. I didn’t wanna get the kid fired. I dunno, I would feel guilty if I didn’t say something so I’m gonna beat myself up no matter what I do. But I feel bad for getting the kid fired even though I didn’t make him say the dumb shit or feel the dumb way he does or be the shitty person he is.

Am I an asshole for saying something to management?

Dude is making a hostile work environment and you uncomfortable. Also, He's a racist piece of shit who's not gonna learn shit if he doesn't learn those beliefs have negative consequences in life. You did nothing wrong going to management about his behavior.

Put a bar of soap in a towel and beat him with it, then while he's unconscious shave his head (including his eyebrows). That's how I'd handle it.
