If we sells to ESPN or FOX then they’ll be owned by Disney too.

Wonder if it has anything to do with the lawsuit filed the other day by shareholders.

Disney doesn't own Fox, they only own their former film division

Maybe Vince is sick or dying? Only way I'd see him selling.
And I'd see him being petty enough NOT to leave it to his family.

Curtis Axel was released today. Apparently, there are more releases as well that have yet to be announced. I'm not saying the rumor is true, but this kind of budget belt-tightening is pretty common just before a lot of companies sell.

This could just be Vince trying to bump his stock value though so once again, block of salt.

All it is is the lack of house shows to put all these people on, they've realized that having 500 guys signed and only using 40 on shows is wasting money.

Yep. Same thing goes for the agents. The ones they’ve released are the ones whose job is to put together the house matches. When you don’t have house shows the job doesn’t exist.

They have been looking to sell the Network, I don’t know if it’s to ESPN or Fox but maybe old Dutch just got confused.

I really haven’t understood the anger people have at WWE for doing what every business is doing right now.

Because they don't have to. What they are saving in cuts to staff and wrestlers is a drop in the bucket. Its to bump the stock and pay out more for the shareholders, and Vince is getting the biggest payout.

I don't think it's even that. Vince pulling stroke to get them made essential to keep running shows and then to turn around and let people go is what's pissing people off more.

And its not just the stroke with Puns Favorite Uncle. Its basically a bribe to the state of Florida. And this was all the same week he fucked everyone involved in the XFL.

I just guess to me, realistically, they mostly haven’t fired anyone who wasn’t overdue to be fired or had expressed interest in being released. And given the current situation, I can’t blame any company for thinking ahead and clearing up overhead costs.

It sucks but it’s business.

WWE isn't a mom and pop or even a cash poor, struggling business. They had record profits last year and due to the TV contracts probably will again this year. They could fire or hire another 100, even 200 people and it wouldn't effect their bottom line that much. WWE was not going to go under if they hadn't done this. But if this was the only thing, maybe (probably not but maybe) I'd conceed your point and agree "its just business". But it was just one of many things they've done to show that they (and especially Vince) are absolute trash, even just in that week.

Last nights RAW was the final straw for me. I deleted RAW/SD off the DVR and it is time for me to take a break from WWE. NXT is still on DVR but they're on a short leash after some crap the last few weeks as well.

I'm certainly not burnt out on wrestling as a whole, but WWE is just insulting on so many levels for a viewer.

For starters, no one can justify that Seth Rollins DQ to me from last night.

WWE has let Sting's contract expire. I'd love to see him present the TNT title to the winner at Double or Nothing in a few weeks.

This is so disappointing. I was hoping we could get Sting vs Undertaker in a cinematic tour de force.

Sting has always been that guy that stayed away for so long that it almost feels like it's been too long to even do a big match with Taker at this point. You are right though that a cinematic match could hide their shortcomings a lot at their age. That AJ Styles match was quite the spectacle.

It sounds like his contract expired while they were still negotiating a new one. Sounds like they’re still talking. My guess is either he’s back by Friday or not anytime soon.

Or Tony Khan swoops in with a literal money in the back briefcase and steals Gulak, screaming “Jaguars Money, Bitch” as he is lifted back up into his private helicopter.
