The constant price hikes and disappearing of shows and movies is just a miserable experience and I've decided to cancel most of them as I barely use most of them. I've kept Disney+ so far as I have been using that one the most these days but cancelled Prime, Hulu, and Sherry is taking about dumping Netflix lately. It is literally cheaper to buy DVDs and watch them, plus the added benefit of not scrolling through tons of studio shovelware for hours when you could commit to something and just watch it.
YES! I always buy physical media when I can. I even bought a DVD Screener off eBay from awards season of Tick Tick Boom because its only on Netflix and I wanted to own a disc of it.

I only pay for Disney+ and Peacock. Peacock is a $2 a month deal and Disney cause of Marvel/Star Wars. Most others aren't worth having monthly. I just grab Netflix for a month like 3 times a year to binge stuff. I use someone elses MAX.

I don’t think any other streamer is worth it for me.

I'm in the same boat, but added Prime back so for Thursday Night Football and Invincible coming back (and Black Friday season) but still haven't added back Disney (even though I do want to catch Loki Season 2). I keep Peacock pretty much year round and that's it.

I dropped Netflix a couple months ago after I finished Skull Island on there but I’ll pick it back up before the end of the year for a thing or two, just not long-term.

Prime I have so having for a year anyways isn’t too much a problem. Peacock is mainly for WWE.

Crunchyroll is my main thing so I can’t imagine dropping it otherwise I’d have to put too much effort into finding sites to stream off of for various things.

I was going to drop Disney+ this year but Doctor Who is clutch for me so it’s staying.

It was simpler when it was just Netflix/Hulu and Prime. Then everyone wanted a piece of the pie and slapped a Plus on their name.

Best part is none of these new streaming platforms are making them any money. Everything is burning cash and that is why ad supported options are now popping up. Same w password sharing crackdown. They want every dime they can get.

What’s the most fucked up thing you’ve ever seen on the internet? A lot of us grew up with the internet and at its beginning it was the wild, wild west. There were crazy ass websites with all kinds of crazy shit that you could just stumble upon back in the day due to lack of regulations. They’re definitely still around, but they’re not nearly as easy to accidentally stumble into now than they used to be.

My best friend found out that his dad didn’t die of a heart attack like he always thought. When we were in 7th grade Jamie wasn’t at school for like two weeks and when I asked our homeroom teacher where she was she let me know his dad had a heart attack and died. Jamie’s brother is very sick now and his mom let him know she lied to him back in the day about his dad. He died from a heroin overdose. Jamie is pissed that his mom lied to him. I told him she was probably trying to protect him from knowing that his dad was a junkie. He said he doesn’t care, his mom lied. Do you think he should be pissed at his mom for lying or understand she didn’t want her kid to know her ex died from an OD?

It is understandable to be emotional and process that news to take it out on her. He isn’t here to go after w the anger.

He wouldve been 12-13 years old so she PROBABLY could’ve told him but that depends how much he knew at that age about drugs and other types of things in that realm at that age. You never know what it will do to a child.

I definitely understand both sides in that situation. I get his anger and I get the mom being hesitant to tell him when it happened. Maybe she should have told him a bit sooner though?

I have a nonexistent relationship with my family, I definitely get it. But as I’m removed from the situation and fully understand not everyone has a terrible relationship with their family and knowing his mom, I really think she was trying to protect him. When we were kids drugs hadn’t even entered our minds yet. In 7th grade we were still obsessed with going around giving each other stone cold stunners everywhere we could throughout the day and we had just started discovering girls. Heroin being such a scary drug, his mom just didn’t want him to know his dad was into that shit. I do think she waited too long to let him know something important like why his father died so young. I think he was 38. We are 37 now.

So as you may know, Jacen has been struggling with disruptive behavior, hitting, kicking, and spitting at school recently. Well, yesterday we had a meeting with his teachers and they've decided to move him to a shortened school day starting Monday through Xmas. They're going to reevaluate starting in January. We've been trying to find help with his behavioral problems but there's so much red tape with insurance and just the sheer paperwork and procedures that it may take months to get him set up.

Damn. Hopefully the shorter days will help. My son has been having problems disrupting class by goofing off constantly and not getting his schoolwork done. Seems he’s a chip off the old block. I dicked around so much throughout school people actually started to believe I was dumb hahaha. Then I actually started to believe it because everyone else believed it, so if everyone else believes something they must all be right, right? I didn’t find out I was actually very intelligent until my mid twenties when I went to college.

Is anyone else experiencing really bad air quality where you live? It’s been hazy here for the whole week. There is smoke everywhere at all times. I don’t know what it’s coming from, but it’s bad. Just being outside for a few seconds makes you cough. Brutal.

Philosophically speaking, would America be less racist if Barack Obama hadn’t been elected?

I say no. They were already here and existed. It just began the quiet ones becoming loud.

This. And it got 10X worse when Puns's favorite uncle was elected.

If christofascists take over the government and Puns's favorite uncle ends up winning in 2024….are we going to become 1935 Germany? America feels a whole lot like the end of the Weimar Republic right now. It feels like Christians have slowly become more and more fascist and less tolerant to anyone who isn’t like them. My mom literally said “Christian’s in America are under attack” last night. Under attack, from WHO? It feels like that is some fucking gibberish. Since America started Christians have been murdering everyone and claiming their land for themselves. Before they came to America Christian’s were kicking Jews out of every country, trying to proselytize, murder and/or forcibly convert every Jew, Muslim, atheist, agnostic, catholic, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Jainist, Mayan, Inca, Native American and any/everyone who didn’t adhere to their religion of tolerance and acceptance.

They’re Christians because being Jews is too hard for them and there are too many rules to follow. So they pick and choose and lie to themselves about the cognitive dissonance that they are good people. They’ve literally attacked everyone who isn’t Christian and lie to themselves about what being under attack truly is. Nobody is trying to force them to not be Christians, we just want them to fuck off with trying to convert everyone. You know who doesn’t proselytize? Jews. Neither do Muslims. It’s odd to me that Christian’s wanna force everyone to believe like them and that they are unable to see it. Too deep in the forest to see the trees, I suppose.
