The Netflix Thread
Whatcha streaming?
I watched all of season one of Everything Sucks! I checked it out because it promised 90s nostalgia, but honestly the story and characters were great. The nostalgia was meh. But I liked the show! It has a very Richard Linklater vibe.

Re: The Netflix Thread
I just got a big recommendation for Altered Carbon so I'll probably check that out when I finish Punisher ( and the Tick on Amazon).
Re: The Netflix Thread
The final season of Love drops tomorrow. I really enjoyed the first season, but was lukewarm on the 2nd. I'm hoping the 3rd, and final, will work better for me.
Re: The Netflix Thread
Tick is very good, entertaining and Serafinovic is good in the role. I still prefer the animated show though.ICEMAN KING PATSON wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:26 am I just got a big recommendation for Altered Carbon so I'll probably check that out when I finish Punisher ( and the Tick on Amazon).

Currently I’m watching Jessica Jones. I’m less invested in season 2 than I was in the first season. Possibly because I don’t enjoy self destruction stories and that’s what a big part of this season feels like.
Plus, David Tennant was so compelling as Killgrave and the show misses his presence.

I don't know why, but I always enjoyed watching self destructive stories. I've always been compelled by watching characters and the world around them fall apart due to their actions. I haven't started this yet though so I'm not sure how I'm going to like it compared to season one. The lack of Tennant's Killgrave does make me a bit less excited to start this season.Oracle wrote: ↑Sun Mar 11, 2018 5:14 am Currently I’m watching Jessica Jones. Re: The Netflix Thread
I finished Punisher and it was really good for what it was, just not exactly what I wanted.
Not sure I want to jump right into JJ2 after hearing y'alls thoughts. I didn't love Season 1 (and that was with a fantastic villain).

Re: The Netflix Thread
If you didn’t love season 1 skipping season 2 May be for the best: it digs into Jessica’s past, has a lot more Trish and while It has a good antagonist it has no one on Tennants level.ICEMAN KING PATSON wrote: ↑Sun Mar 11, 2018 9:20 am I finished Punisher and it was really good for what it was, just not exactly what I wanted.

Re: The Netflix Thread
Just finished this today. I watched both the first two seasons in one day. I didn't have a chance to do that with the third (but I did watch like 8 episodes today), and I still loved it. I wasn't thrilled with the finish, because I really do think there's so much more to their story that I'd like to see.
I'm still shocked at how much I loved an Apatow project at this point.
Re: The Netflix Thread
Anybody check out season six of Orange Is The New Black? I’m on episode 5. Enjoying the season so far!

Re: The Netflix Thread
So I know I am probably in the minority here but I am pissed that House of Cards is doing its final season without Spacey.
I'm not here to discuss Spacey and the reasons and actions that led to him being fired. As a fan of the show, his character and his work as an actor, the story I've now followed and enjoyed the hell out of, is not going to get the ending it deserves.
And with the news today of it just goes to show that this will not be the logical planned ending and as a viewer, that upsets and frustrates me. It was just such a great show and it's a shame to have it pivot so much to end now.
I think it should've just ended with last season or at least a movie of sorts where they kept him on to get some sort of comeuppance. But in this day and age Netflix had to avoid the PR nightmare and just cut ties with him.
I'll still be watching in November and while I'm sure most will triumph it, I already know I will most likely be disappointed.

Re: The Netflix Thread
I just started watching One Day At A Time. Only two episodes in but I’m a fan so far!
Re: The Netflix Thread
Finished the first season of One Day At A Time. I have to give this show credit, it’s both funny while also dealing with some very serious and current topics in a really great way. Everything from immigration to homosexuality to PTSD. They tackle things in a way that TV shows haven’t been able to since the days of Archie Bunker.
Guess Norman Lear still got it.

I need to check that out as All in the Family is one of my top 5 sitcoms.
I've been watching QB1. It follows 3 top QB prospects for their senior year. The second season teams overall aren't as good but I think I might enjoy it more simply because the guys don't have that "better than everyone" attitude.

Re: The Netflix Thread
The third season of One Day At A Time dropped on Friday. I actually finished it already! Proud to be one of those people at last! Also it was really good. Still can’t recommend this show enough.
Re: The Netflix Thread
Finished the first season of The Umbrella Academy this morning. Really enjoyed the show and where a lot of the storylines went (and how they tied together), but I'm not sure that I loved the way the season ended. I'm more than sure it'll be back for a second season, but cliffhangers are so annoying.
Next I'm watching Sex Education! And by next I mean I already finished the first six episodes and only have two left. Great show!

I feel like its been forever since I dove into a new show. I think since September when Mayans MC and Kidding came out.
I feel like Altered Carbon and Mindhunter are the next 2 on my list for sure. I just gotta start em up. Part of me likes thinning out the amount of TV I am watching but I know I am missing out on some great stuff at the moment.

I’ve had a lot of time lately to watch TV, so I’ve sctuslly been ramping up what I’ve been watching. But there’s so much to choose from that it’s overwhelming. That’s why I’ve been jumping into Netflix shows specifically. They’re usually quality stuff, and streamlined, and been talked about plenty.Iamspiderman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 2:27 pm I feel like its been forever since I dove into a new show. Sex Education was great! I’m excited that they’re doing a second season.
I also finished the first season of GLOW. Great cast! Definitely a fan of this one too.

I'm 2 episodes into The Umbrella Acadamy and am enjoying it quite a bit. I could never stomach My Chemical Romance musically, buy Way's grasp on genre fiction is my kind of weird.
