Random Music Comments and Discussion

Weezer just dropped a whole-ass surprise album of cover songs. The Teal Album! I’m not sure how I feel about this. But their cover of Billie Jean is awesome!

Billie Jean is just flat out an awesome song. Easily in my top 3 Michael songs.

Stand By Me might be my favorite though. There's just that little bit added to the music that makes it more energetic but keeps the tone of the original with the vocals.

Stand By Me is great too! I was underwhelmed by their Take On Me. Amused by No Scrubs though.

They do Take on Me acoustic and so much slower live. I don't know why they just didn't roll with that!

I have no interest in Weezer but I'd listen to this album.

Check it out Icy. I'm not a Weezer fan and the majority of the songs are really good.

So for the hip hop fans out there, my question is...

Best solo album by a Wu Tang member?

Ironman by Ghostface, then Liquid Swords by Gza.

So KK Downing is sorta forming a new offshoot of Judas Priest called KK's Priest with Tim "Ripper" Owens and the guy who was the drummer for Priest on Stained Class and Hellbent for Leather.

they should have called it something else, KK's Priest seems unnecessarily petty and spiteful (I like the Steelmill name better). We'll see if Ripper can last with something beyond an album and tour (at most two).

I'm interested in hearing what they put out. It's going to take a tall order to be on the same level as Firepower was. You are right about the name, it feels petty like he's upset that they didn't call him back when Tipton left the band. Hopefully Ripper can stick around with something, he's super talented but tends to flake out fast sadly.

I dont think there are perfect albums, just albums that flow really well without any weak songs.

The new AC/DC album isn't going to change the face of rock and roll or anything but man if it isn't a reliably solid, rocking time with a few great standout tracks.

Family Dollar clearing out all their CDs for $2 each has me listening to stuff I probably never would have picked up otherwise.

Time to jam on some Jimmy Buffett Yall!

Not a fan of Trivium and really don't care for My Chemical Romance, but this? This I enjoy.

My primary way of listening to music lately has been in my car but I brought what I've been listening to in the house and gave it a whirl on my surround sound system and yeah, I need to do this more often. There's so many small things that I've missed out on hearing on my Cars factory speakers, especially in musically dense, progressive material like DorDeDuh and Alcest.

How do y’all feel about Alice In Chains? Over the past couple years they’ve become one of my favorite bands.
