I've actually been listening to Motley Crue's first 2 albums recently. I forgot how good they were before they just went way too commercial for my tastes.

Abigail Williams: Walk Beyond the Dark

The first time I heard this band I hated their sound. It was black metal meets metalcore done in the most juvenile manner and it just wasn't for me. Fast forward 15 years later and a ton of lineup changes with only one member left from that era who was driven to push the music in a much different direction and you have what may be their best album yet. My biggest issue with this band has been that they always seemed to be riding on the heels of popular movements in the genre and while you can feel the influences throughout here it seems to be distilled into their own sound finally. Good stuff if you can stomach extreme/black metal.
