I need to check that Alice In Chains track out, maybe once we get home from the hospital I can really soak it up.

The new A Perfect Circle album is really good. It scratches that part of me the loves stuff like Katatonia and such. It's also a good tide me over until Tool can finally get their next album out (though it took APC 14 years between albums, Tool is sitting at 12 right now and are in the studio finally) even though they are a bit different stylistically.

Yep! I listened to so much prog rock that I had to give it a long rest, but I’ll break out some Yes or some Rush or some Tull from time to time.

Sceptic Flesh: Codex Omega

Epic death metal mixed with a full orchestra, great stuff even though I'm not crazy about the triggered drum sound. The real treat though is the bonus disk with the orchestral arrangements played by themselves.

so I heard the new Here Lies Man single on the Facebook, got me to check out the first album from last year, and that sounds like Funkadelic leaning into doom metal..so tasty.

Paradise Lost: Medusa

Take the last decades worth of albums which sound like more polished versions of Draconian Times with a hint of One Second and filter it through with the vocal stylings of Gothic and add a dash of DOOM to the mix and you get this. Probably my favorite album of theirs in years.

Anyone check out the new Kanye or the Kanye/Kid Cudi joint album? Despite his insanity, I’m still a big Ye fan and couldn’t NOT get them. However, I was underwhelmed by both upon the first listen to each. I’ll give them another several listens before I make up my mind on them though.

I'm watching (and listening) to a streaming version of Live at Budakon and there are some extra songs at the end by a much more recent version version of Cheap Trick. And it's still real good.
