Random General Wrestling Discussion

Post by Joe »

Talk about anything wrestling related here!

So here’s a question - do you think a wrestler who earns a shot at a title in a big way (like winning a tournament or the Royal Rumble or the MITB briefcase) must win the title?

I sort of feel like they do because when they lose their title shot, the whole thing ends up feeling underwhelming and the wrestler usually looks worse for it.

Thoughts?

The only one I feel must win is when they cash in the briefcase because there's no chance to prepare for it really. You know you're facing Angle because he won the Rumble and title shot at Mania so you have time to train and prepare for him.

Lumiere is more of the Heyman role for Beast I think.

I don’t think Undertaker and Kane ever had a good match against each other.

Did anybody else check in with the new Dark Side of the Ring season that started with the Benoit story? It was up on YouTube for a bit.

I thought it did a pretty thorough job and thankfully concluded on a good note.

I watched the first half. Hard to watch at times, but really well put together.

I agree, extremely well put together. I’m glad the real end result of it was bringing family back together, not just the typical way that discussing this story usually goes.

Anybody else watch The Life & Crimes of New Jack from Dark Side of the Ring last night on Vice?

The Brawl For All episode of Dark Side of the Ring was better than I expected. Check it if you haven't already! The very first RAW I ever attended had two Brawl For All bouts, Bart Gunn vs. Bob Holly and The Godfather vs. Dan Severn.

I finally started watching this. Only watched the first two of season 1 last night. The Brawl For All episode of STWWBP was great so I can't wait to get to this one.

who would have thought the self righteous vegan Austin Aries who has basically burned bridges with every company hes worked for. would be one of those self important pieces of shit who doesnt think he or anyone should wear a mask to stop the spread of COVID. he thinks his mega vegan immunity will save him. i never wish people get sick but i almost want him to get COVID and survive of course, just to show anyone can get it.

I’ve always heard that Aries isn’t the nicest guy so I’m not surprised. I met him once in passing. He was fine then but also it was in passing soooo.
